And so, for now, this is where I pause... This open letter turned out to be more than just words to my present self. It became a quiet reminder of how far I’ve come, and how far I still want to go. If there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s that nursing isn’t just about learning procedures, passing exams, or surviving duties. It’s about learning how to stay soft in a world that can be overwhelming, how to keep showing up even when you’re tired, and how to care deeply without losing yourself in the process. To every aspiring nursing student reading this, take your time. Breathe. Be proud of every small progress. This path will stretch you, test your limits, and even make you doubt yourself. But it will also shape you, surprise you, and lead you to the most genuine kind of growth. To my future self as a third-year student, I hope you never forget why you started. An Open Letter to My Self as a Nursing Student

 Dear self, I know you’ve been carrying a lot lately. Sleepless nights, endless readings, and the silent pressure of always trying to be okay. Nursing was never going to be easy, and deep down, you knew that. But still, you said yes to this path, knowing it would demand so much of you. And you showed up anyway. There were days you doubted if you were cut out for this. You’d stare at your notes, try to keep your eyes open during lectures, and ask yourself if it’s still worth it. You felt like you were giving your all but still falling short. Sometimes you were too tired to eat properly, too stressed to sleep peacefully, and too anxious to even enjoy your breaks. It’s about listening, showing up, and being present even when you’re tired, scared, or unsure.
