Until Then, Future RN 🩺

And so, for now, this is where I pause...

This open letter turned out to be more than just words to my present self. It became a quiet reminder of how far I’ve come, and how far I still want to go. If there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s that nursing isn’t just about learning procedures, passing exams, or surviving duties. It’s about learning how to stay soft in a world that can be overwhelming, how to keep showing up even when you’re tired, and how to care deeply without losing yourself in the process.

To every aspiring nursing student reading this, take your time. Breathe. Be proud of every small progress. This path will stretch you, test your limits, and even make you doubt yourself. But it will also shape you, surprise you, and lead you to the most genuine kind of growth. To my future self as a third-year student, I hope you never forget why you started. I hope you continue to find meaning even in the most tiring days. Keep holding on to your purpose, and never forget the people who made it worth it. And when things get too heavy again, I hope you still write to remind yourself that you are capable.

To the nurse I will become someday, I hope you look back at this version of us and feel proud. Not because you were the best, but because you never gave up. And to everyone dreaming of something  whether it’s to become a nurse, to help your family, to heal others, or to simply make it out of a hard season, please know that it’s okay to rest, to restart, to recenter. What matters most is that you continue. This isn’t goodbye. Just a gentle pause to refill my cup, so I can keep pouring out the best version of myself in the next part of the journey. I’ll be back. And I hope, when I do, you’ll still be here too — dreaming, learning, growing, and healing.

Padayon lang, future RN. We’re not done yet.
